The purchase of this volume of pleasant poems about rural farming life was a wise decision. What’s a mystery is why the people here have never taken to it. Is it particularly good poetry? No, but neither is the poetry of Helen Steiner Rice which receives good circulation. Most of it rhymes and much of it depicts the beauty of rural life in beautiful language. It would appear to be a perfect fit. But it’s charms failed to woo the people of Albertville. Let it go.
