I’m all for books helping people understand and appreciate the poetry of Emily Dickinson and I suggest keeping this one on the shelf. However, I only do so because there are more recent critical approaches to her on the shelves. So much thought has been given to her since the 1940s that an additional perspective is called for rather than letting this one book stand as the sole insight into her life and work.
