This small volume is a nice balance between a gift book (more pictures than poetry) and a regular book of poetry (nothing but poetry). The illustrations accompanying the poetry are beautiful and only add up to about a third of the pages. It contains 17 of Poe’s best loved poems and a brief but trenchant introduction. As circulation reveals, Poe’s work remains far more popular than many poets who succeeded him. By all means, keep this on the shelf.
