This is a book of children’s literature by Sidney Lanier compiled by a teacher for teachers and parents. Poetry comprises only 16 of the 142 pages, or slightly over 10%. So there is little wonder it has gotten no circulation where it’s currently shelved. It’s not for adults and there’s very little poetry. It’s an old book and to me old books have a lot of charm. However, its robust pages are yellowed and it has a musty smell. At the very least it needs to be placed in an appropriate section of the library. I would recommend simply culling it if it truly has had no circulation in all this time (I wondered if it was cardless because one had been filled and another one not yet put in place).
